After
many "Dear Sir" and "To Whom It May Concern"
emails, I figured it was time to let the TBP visitors (and
friends) know who is pulling the strings behind the scenes here
at TBP.
It's
me... Beth! :o)
While
I enjoy receiving emails that made it sound like we're a large
conglomerate, it's me that does everything around here!
*grin*
The
"US" in "About Us", refers to my kids who
(usually) allow me to work, and tinker, and enhance, and
redesign, and add to, this site. They should get credit
too! (You can meet them below!)
It
all started with a single web page that had a couple photos and
a few updates about our family. It was created to share my
(at the time) new baby with loved ones around the world.
Soon the family page turned into a 30 page family site and I was
being asked to create baby, wedding, birthday, and other themed
pages for friends... and friends of friends.
TakeAStroll.com
was launched in January 2000. I created themed web pages
for all the occasions listed above, plus pages dedicated to
pets, holidays, anniversaries, hobbies, sports teams,
classrooms, scout troops... well, you get the idea.
While
I loved all of them, the baby pages were far and away the most
requested so I narrowed the site down to reflect the demand, and
then have been slowly adding other baby related products to
compliment the baby pages.
About
a year ago (May 2001) I was doing some searches for Top Baby
site competitions and couldn't find any. Geez... they have
Top 100 Beanie Baby site competitions, and Top 100
Jimmy Buffet site competitions, Top 100 Underwater Basket
Weaving site competitions (just kidding on that one, but you
know what I mean)! They had competition for everything but
baby sites. So TopBabyPages.com was born!
Since
then it's taken on a life of it's own... I could work 24/7 on
it, I love it that much. I enjoy researching topics,
adding new features, and hearing from visitors... and I still
have lots and lots of plans for it, as time permits. (The
message board is next!)
